Jennifer Murphy

Jennifer Murphy is the founder and CEO of Runa Digital Assets. She brings over 30 years of experience in asset management, including a practical focus over the past 5 years on the enormous potential for blockchain and digital assets. As part of her prior role as Chief Operating Officer of Western Asset Management, a global investment firm with $475+ Billion in AUM, Ms. Murphy sponsored the firm’s research and development of blockchain-based applications and other innovation initiatives, such as the Western team’s purchase of the first fixed income security issued on blockchain infrastructure in 2018. Before Western, Jennifer worked at Legg Mason as Chief Administrative Officer and as President and CEO of Legg Mason Capital Management, the investment firm founded by legendary investor Bill Miller. Jennifer began her career as a securities analyst and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). She has an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a BA in Economics from Brown University. She serves on Brown’s Presidential Advisory Council on Economics.
