Rappi, la app colombiana de delivery con operaciones en nueve países latinoamericanos, ha comenzado un piloto de pagos en cripto en México.

  • Tras aliarse con el proveedor de pagos cripto BitPay y el exchange mexicano Bitso, Rappi permitirá a sus clientes convertir criptomonedas en créditos que podrán utilizar para completar sus compras en la plataforma de la compañía, anunció Rappi el lunes.
  • “Estamos estudiando con interés el mundo crypto y creemos que el futuro es la intersección del mundo cripto con empresas non-cripto”, dijo Sebastián Mejía, presidente de Rappi, en el anuncio, y agregó que el piloto es un primer paso “para seguir incorporando el mundo cripto a Rappi”.
  • La compañía ya provee servicios financieros en Colombia, Brasil, México, Chile y Perú, y está intentando ganar aprobación regulatoria para operar como banco digital en Colombia este año, reportó Reuters a fines de 2021.
  • En julio la compañía reunió $500 millones con una valuación de $5250 millones en una ronda de inversión serie F.
